March 3rd

I smiled today... I love watching my boys play. The last few nights after dinner they have put on their music and played together in the playroom. Tonight they played cars with a cardboard tube. I enjoy watching them learn and explore.

February 24th

I smiled today... Colby was playing with some trains and other cars. I had to smile as he kept trying over and over to connect the train cars with a tractor and a tow truck. He would take it apart and try this way and that until he found a way to get almost all of them connected. He was so happy to drive it around the floor.

February 23rd

I smiled today... Richard left yesterday morning and won't be back until Saturday (as you can guess that is not what I smiled about). Last night the boys went to sleep better than they have in quite some time and slept all the way through the night. They both slept more than 12 hours actually. Is it too much to ask for that to happen again tonight??

February 18th

I smiled today... I had both boys home all day today for the first time in a while. It went better than I expected, and so far there have been no tears and no time outs. (I hope I didn't jinx myself). I hope tonight goes smoothly as I will be alone with the boys at bedtime again. Richard has been working late, guess this is a test run for next week when he's off on business all week. The boys and I are off to the playground for a bit and then back for bath time and our night time routine. Hope tomorrow goes ok too... I'm sure Blake will be happy when he can get back in his routine next week... hopefully!

February 17th

I smiled today... I took some time this morning to go through some of the pictures I've uploaded onto my computer and hadn't had a chance to edit. I love taking pictures of my guys. It is fun to look back on their everyday lives and just smile. Both boys have been sick lately... actually they both have ear infections and have had some rough nights. So stopping to smile helped.

February 14th

I smiled today last night... ok I didn't get around to posting cause well you'll understand after you read it. Yesterday was Valentine's day. A day I never really embraced as an adult. I loved doing it with my students, but could have tossed it away for myself. I picked up some treats for the boys and a few sweets for Richard, but that was the extent of our Valentines here. Richard gave me a stuffed teddy bear and a card when I gave them their treats. I thought it was sweet since I think it was the first stuffed animal he has given me. Then I went to go to sleep last night and after I pulled down the covers I found he left me one more treat. He bought me a bag of Ghirardelli chocolate and had put the squares in the bed in the shape of a heart. It's little things like that that make me smile.

February 12th

I smiled today... I was in the mood to bake today so I made peanut butter and jelly cookies. Colby decided to help. It's always fun to have them help bake and do other things around the house.

I smiled today... I gave the boys a bath in my garden tub today... a big treat. They were taking turns drinking the cold water out of the faucet. I thought it was too cute to watch them take turns doing something simple

February 6th

I smiled today... I decided to try something different and left the tv on for most of the day. I usually only have it on for an hour at a time. My thought behind the change was to see if they would then play while the tv was on instead of focusing on the tv. It actually worked. But, the thing that made me smile was watching Blake. He was dancing with a song on Little Bear and was really getting into it. Then was dancing again with a song that was on the move to the music segment. It was just funny to watch him get so into the dancing he was doing.

January 31st

I smiled today... Richard, the boys and I headed out to Downtown Disney to meet up with a friend of mine from MA. I hadn't seen her in over 6 years. This was the first friend of mine from MA to meet Richard never mind my boys. It was nice to see someone from the past.

January 28th

I smiled today... We took Blake today and signed him up for a 2 day a week 1/2 day program. We decided that he needed a new outlet and more time with kiddos his own age. Richard and I checked it out on Tuesday and today we took Blake in to see how he reacted to being there. He LOVED it. He went in this morning with Richard and then I went a bit later and meet them to see how he was doing there. When I got there he way playing in the blocks area with the dinosaurs. He did great when we left him to go fill out the rest of the paperwork and put down the deposit.

Colby didn't have an issue with seeing his brother leave with Daddy. He also was fine when we left Blake in the room.

I know this will be best for both of them. Blake start on Tuesday... I hope he loves it as much as I expect he will.

January 25th

I smiled today... both my boys woke up in good moods today. that hasn't been the norm lately so I'll take it when I can get it! I hope this means they are both over their head colds... now if I could only get over my own.

wow seems like I've neglected this lately... it's not that I haven't had many reasons to smile. I just means I've had less time to stop and type (which sometimes is a good thing)

January 14th

I smiled today... Colby loves cereal in milk and has for a while now. It is nice that he can now eat it out of the bowl himself with limited spillage! Now, if we could only get him to eat his yogurt without wearing 1/2 of it we'd be set (o:

January 13th

I smiled today... I took my guys for a walk to our playground. Is there anything better than getting out and running around and watching them climb and have fun??

January 12th

I smiled today... The boys and I were playing outside (it was 61... finally!). Colby has decided the last few days that the blue tarps we are using on our plants would are fun to run and jump on. Yesterday and today the boys spent about 20 minutes just running, jumping and laughing. Is there anything better than watching little guys have fun just playing? (yes I took pictures... I'll try to edit them and get them posted tomorrow on Teacher Turned Mommy as my wordless Wed pics)

January 9th

I smiled today... I love days when we stay home and do a whole lot of nothing. I love the fact that the boys are content to stay in their jammies and play. To just hang out and play games, push toys around the living room and watch tv.

January 7th

I smiled today... it warmed up outside so the boys and I could go out in our sweatshirts and stay out longer (we were out for 1.5 hrs actually). One of their favorite things to do it run back and forth around the yard. Today they decided to play ring around the rosie. It makes me smile that something so little can make them smile and laugh

January 6th

I smiled today... Blake looked at me this morning and said... Mommy, your hair pretty.

January 5th

I smiled today... Colby woke up at 2:30am this morning, yes I know you are thinking... and this made you smile? WHY? Well the waking up at 2:30 didn't make me smile, but the fact that he went right back to his bed and pretty much fell back to sleep after I changed his diaper. That made me smile. Even when he was in the crib he didn't settle down quickly in the middle of the night. That used to result in Colby and I sleeping the rest of the night on the couch. So trust me, when he fell back to sleep in his own bed on his own... I had a huge smile on before I fell back to sleep!

January 3rd

I smiled today... we were on our way home from the grocery store and Blake was kept saying "Ready, set, goooo" before we backed out of the space. Once we could back out, Richard and Blake kept going vroom vroom. Richard then drove the whole way home acting like he was driving a race car. The boys laughed the whole way home as they helped make car sounds for Richard.

I smiled today... Colby was playing on the computer and Blake pulled up a chair to watch Colby play. Usually it is the other way around. I was so proud that Blake choose to watch instead of taking over the game playing. It's also crazy to think that Colby is playing on the computer already.
