December 30th

Colby mastered the word "go" while we were away. Now whenever he runs around he yells go, go, go... actually anytime he does pretty much anything he says go go goooo

December 16th

I smiled today... Colby is starting to do a better job at listening when called. Isn't it always a challenge to convince a toddler that you know better than they do? Colby came into the house the first time I asked him after we came home from BJ's tonight. That is a never happen moment!

December 15th

yes, I know I'm slacking, but we had a busy weekend

I smiled today... I heard Blake singing Jingle Bells today. He won't sing if you wak him to, but I often hear him singing to himself. I also smiled as the boys and I made Christmas cookies. Ok so Colby spilled the whole container of sprinkles on the floor and Blake spilled all the colored sugar on the cookie sheet, but isn't it those moments that you will look back on later and remember with a smile?

December 12th

I smiled today... we had a fun and busy day today. There were many times when I thought to myself... man I've got it good with these two. We went to a birthday party at a petting zoo/farm. Yes, we were all over the place and the boys were on the move, but they stopped (for the most part) when asked and listened when needed. They certainly were some of the best behaved children there, yes I know I'm biased.

But I think one of my favorite moments of the day was after dinner playing Uno Moo with Blake and Richard. Colby was sitting with us at the table too. It was fun to have the whole family together at the kitchen table enjoying a game together.

December 11th

I smiled today... Blake lost his computer time today. So, I opened up a new game to play with him. (I do not let the boys have all their toys on their birthday or Christmas. I do this so that everything gets its chance to be a new fun toy. I feel that if they get them all in one shot something will get over looked and pushed to the bottom of the toy box before it even has a chance to be enjoyed.)

I pulled out Uno Moo to play with him. This was a fun game for a little one. It is based on the concept of Uno, but it is plastic animals instead of cars.

Blake had a fun time learning how to play the game. He did really good after the first few rounds. He really enjoys games and is learning to be a good player. He does get excited when he wins, but he does NOT get upset when he looses. He usually wants to play again, but it isn't the I have to play to win or I don't want to play because I lost.

December 10th

I smiled today... The boys and I were playing outside in the sandbox today, trying to get playtime in before the rain. Blake kept picking sand up off the patio and bringing it over to me. Every time he gave me the sand I said "Thank you" and he would always respond "you're welcome". I smile every time I hear either of my sons say "thank you" (this is one of Colby's phrases) and hear Blake say "welcome" or "you're welcome". It makes me happy not only to hear them talking, but also to see the example of manners is rubbing off on both boys.

December 8th

I smiled today.... I love to watch Colby play. He gets very involved in what he is doing for the 20 seconds he is playing with a certain toy. He is beginning to play with toys for longer now, but he still flits from toy to toy for the most part. I love to watch his brain work as he chooses what to use and how to use it.

December 7th

I smiled today.... I love watching my boys doing art projects. Today we made reindeers. We made the stockings last week, and well the turkeys were made in November, but are still on the fridge. The snowman in Blake's picture he made in speech class

Then they colored pictures with crayons. It is always fun to watch them work and learn.

December 5th

I smiled today... Colby woke up early today, why is it he can sleep in until almost 8am on the weekdays but almost never fails to wake up at 6:30am on the weekends?  Anyway... it isn't a bad thing because it usually means alone time for the two of us, which we don't get very often.  This morning he was sitting watching Blue's Clues and working on puzzles.  It brought a smile to my face as I watched him work on putting the pieces in a peg puzzle.  He gets so happy and is proud of himself when he gets it right.  It doesn't matter how many attempts it takes him, when he does it he has a big smile and often claps for himself.  I can only hope this joy and love of learning and trying continues!

December 4th

I smiled today.... Blake went to speech for his first time at the public school today.  I had a huge smile on my face as he happily walked with his new teacher down the hallway.  What was even better was when he was done he walked through the doorway and had a huge smile when he saw me.  He said "Momma!" and ran up to me with his project while giving me a huge hug.

December 3rd

I smiled today.... When the phone rang this afternoon and the caller id came up with Richard's work number.  It isn't often that he gets a chance to call home during the day, so it's always a treat.  I know he thinks about us often, but things keep him busy at work.  So when he does get a chance to check in a home it is always a treat.  And... he called to tell me that he won a $50 gift card... a double treat.

December 2nd

I smiled today.... Every morning I get to smile.  Colby usually wakes up in a great mood.  He is usually reading in his crib when you go in to get him or just laying there talking to himself.

Today he was laying there just laughing.  As soon as I walked to his crib, he grabbed his pacifier and put it in his mouth sideways and just giggled at me.  I took them pacifiers away and picked him up.  As he does every morning, he then snuggled up next to my cheek and just lays there with his head on my shoulder.

Colby is an on-the-go little boy, but every morning he starts the day with a snuggle.  Is there any better way to start the day?

December 1st

This is my first post on this fun new blog.  I hope you enjoy taking time with me to (o:

I smiled today... Colby was taking his nap and Blake was playing on his computer (which he does everyday).  Blake was playing a Dora game on Nick Jr.  I was working on my Farmville Farm and trying to figure out what to do next in my day.  I stopped to listen to figure out what Blake was saying.  He was saying "Oh Mannnn." and all the other phrases that Swiper was saying as he played the game.  It is great to see him feeling more and more comfortable in being able to communicate.  I have to laugh and smile when he talks to the television and the computer.
